About organ recitals at St. Dominic's Priory

Organ recitals take place once a month on a SATURDAY and last approximately one hour (without an interval). Admission is free but a collection is made to help cover expenses and support other musical activities in the church. Four or five recitals each year are given by myself, the rest are given by invited guests.

Since our organ recital series began in 2000 I have been most grateful for the support and encouragement shown by so many who regularly enjoy the "Willis experience" here at St. Dominic's. Our programme for 2008 features some of this country's most distinguished players. You will find further information online at www.organrecitals.com, with more details of the organ and the concerts.

Our audiences enjoy a great variety of music, demonstrating the magnificence the organ and its repertoire at the hands of some marvellous players. St Dominic's Priory is not in a popular tourist area, but we nevertheless welcome visitors from far and wide; some making special visits to London just to attend. The enthusiasm shown by everyone I have spoken with suggests that, as we continue to offer monthly recitals, a larger group of followers will soon join our 'regulars' and enjoy the unique sound of Henry Willis' masterpiece for themselves.

At the moment our advertising is limited to local newspapers, London magazines, organ-journals and handbills. Any further support or ideas you may feel able to contribute will be greatly appreciated and will be for the benefit of the organ at large. I hope you will be able to join us for at least some of the concerts and look forward to seeing you in The Lord Southampton for refreshments afterwards!

If you know of anyone who might be interested in joining our mailing list to receive information about future concerts, please let me know. Leaflets are available at the door of the church at all times and are free to be collected in any quantity.
